Former A DOZEN FURIES Drummer Joins CHIDIED
September 5, 2007Former A DOZEN FURIES drummer Mike Miller has joined the Dallas, Texas-based thrash metal band CHIDIED.
Commented CHIDIED frontman Jerry Rojas: "We are truly stoked to welcome him. A drummer of his caliber is only going to make your band 100% better. All of us are extremely excited to see what happens."
Miller had previously filled in for CHIDIED for one show back in late 2006, which the band said was one of the "best [concerts] ever." He joins the group as the replacement for Travis Block, who was dismissed from CHIDIED due to his relative lack of experience.
According to Rojas, Block left on very good terms.
"Travis is honestly a class act," Rojas said. "He understood where we were coming from and said that if it helps the band out, he was all for it. Seriously, he's a great drummer with plenty of potential. I don't think he will be without a band very long."
CHIDIED plans to concentrate on writing new material and hopes to get into the studio by late 2007/early 2008.
"We're not going to be in a rush," Rojas said. "We're just going to let things develop naturally and see what happens. I just hope everyone is ready because I know we are."
